My name is Dan Carvalho. I served in the US Navy from 1993 to 1997.

Four years of mandatory shaving — sometimes multiple times a day — left my skin wrecked. When I discharged I let my facial hair grow out and reached for a trimmer. I was done with razors.

Years later I came back to shaving and found that everything in my price range burned. Cheap foam, synthetic fragrance, alcohol-heavy aftershave that stung and left my skin dry and irritated. After years of sun, cold winters, and products that didn't care what they were doing to my face, something needed to change.

So I did something most people don't do. I called chemists. I called dermatologists. I asked them to help me build a shaving cream and aftershave formulated for men whose skin has taken real abuse — not a lab version of what they thought men wanted, but something that actually worked.

The result is American Sailor Brand. A shaving cream built around Jojoba, Argan, and Coconut oils that cushions the blade so well you will barely feel it. An aftershave with eight botanical ingredients — no alcohol, no sting — that keeps working twenty minutes after you apply it.

I named it after the Navy because those four years shaped everything about who I am. This business is the first thing I have built entirely on my own terms.

Every kit ships from Long Beach, California. Every ingredient was chosen deliberately. Nothing in here burns.
